Dreams come true in a big way for local woman

Most people have a dream and they count themselves lucky if they reach it.

Pam McCosh hit the jackpot of dreams this year with the realization of a new
business and a special reunion she has been anticipating for 22 years.

McCosh is preparing for a grand opening this month of her business, Arrange Your Home.
An Interior Redesign Industry Specialist (IRIS), McCosh specializes in arranging items
people already have, color consultation and real estate staging. Some of her services
occur by going to clients' homes, and her store at 5432 Sunset Lake Road in Holly
Springs.

McCosh says, "I am passionate about decorating and bringing beauty and balance to a
space. My talent is taking what you already have and making beautiful rooms."

This can be done via a one day makeover and she also offers color consultation, faux
painting and her shop will have fully decorated rooms of items available for purchase.
While business is important, family is even more so. McCosh recently was reunited with
her daughter after 22 years. McCosh explained that she married and had her daughter
Nadia when she was only 19. When her daughter was 3 years old, her husband brought
them to his home country of Kuwait to visit for the summer. However, when summer ended,
he informed her that they would not be returning to the U.S.

McCosh says, "I was 22 years old at the time and was terrified. I planned an escape and
took my daughter but got caught and was arrested for kidnapping." She explained, "By
taking my daughter and leaving, I brought shame and dishonor to my ex-husband and as a
result of this he would not let me have contact with her."

After a five month ordeal, she had no other choice but to return to the U.S. and start her life
over.
She eventually remarried and had two more beautiful children, Kelly and Tommy who are
now 13 and 10 years old. She explained that although she was happy with her new family,
she was still very depressed about Nadia. This led to her gaining over 100 pounds.
McCosh described, "One night my depression was so bad, all I could do was call out to
God." Shortly after, she was invited to a bible study and became a born again Christian.
"That may sound kooky to some people, but my life from that time on has changed
drastically," she said.

In 2002, the family relocated to North Carolina where she became active with Church Alive
in Holly Springs, became an IRIS specialist and began pursuing her goal of opening a
store. She had gastric bypass surgery and lost 100 pounds, and kept the belief in her
heart that someday she would be reunited with her daughter.

On July 20, 2006, she received a phone call from a young lady saying, "Hello, this is
Nadia. Are you my mother?"

Her daughter in Kuwait had found her phone number in her ex-husband's cell phone!
McCosh said, "We bonded immediately and on August 16, 2006 her father brought her
here to see me. She stayed 26 days and was able to return and spend Christmas with us."

Nadia does not plan on returning to the U.S. to live, but both are very happy to have
renewed their relationship. With the heartbreak of missing her daughter behind her,
McCosh is diligently working on getting her store open. In the style of a quaint southern
home, each room is set up to emulate a complete room in a home. A Grand Opening
Celebration is planned for late February and she looks forward to meeting many people
from the community who will be able to visualize the pieces in their own home before
buying.
